The present invention relates to an apparatus for inserting tufting straps in a mattress.

It is known that mattresses, in order to restrain the external padding and prevent excessive expansion due to the compression of the internal springs and of the filling material, are kept flat by a plurality of retention elements, known as tufting straps, one of which is shown for the sake of clarity in Figure 1. As shown in the figure, the tufting strap is designated by the letter P and is constituted by a tension element T, which consists of a tape provided, at its opposite ends, with clips S1, S2 that are suitable to abut, in the active position, against disks D1, D2 detailed hereinafter in order to keep the mattress substantially flat.

Currently, the tufting straps are inserted with predominantly manual methods, which entail excessively long times and high costs.

One apparatus for tufting mattresses, where the tufts are fed manually is disclosed in the document EP 0844210.

The aim of the present invention is to provide an apparatus that allows to automate the application of tufting straps.

Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide an apparatus that has a simple structure, is relatively easy to provide in practice, safe in use, effective in operation, and has a relatively low cost.

This aim and this and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved with an apparatus whose characteristics are defined in the appended claims.

Further characteristics and advantages will become better apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of an apparatus for inserting tufting straps in a mattress, illustrated only by way of non-limitative example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

With particular reference to Figures 2 to 8, the reference numeral 1 generally designates a device of the apparatus that inserts the tufting straps P through a mattress M.

The device 1 (whose position with respect to the mattress is shown more clearly in Figure 12) comprises a central supporting beam 2, to the ends of which a cross-member 3 (see Figure 3) and a plate 4 are fixed. The cross-member 3 is provided with handles 3a and 3b so as to provide a handlebar for maneuvering the device.

A tufting strap magazine 5 is fixed to the beam 2 and has two slots 6 and 7 that slidingly accommodate the clips S1, S2 of each tufting strap P. The tufting strap magazine 5 comprises a magazine pusher 8, which is constituted by a sort of saddle, is arranged downstream of the plate 4, as shown more clearly in Figure 9, and causes, by way of the actuation means 9, the clips S1, S2 to slide toward the mattress M. The actuation means 9 comprise a lamina 10, which frontally engages, by means of the vertical side 10a, a pin 8a that is rigidly coupled to the pusher 8. The lamina is rigidly coupled to a slider 11, which can slide on a rail 13, which is parallel to the beam 2 and is fixed by means of its opposite ends to the plate 4 and to the cross-member 3. The slider 11 is actuated by a spring 14, which is connected to the slider with one end 14a and to the plate 4 with the other end. The spring 14 applies to the slider 11 an elastic force toward the plate 4, which allows the pusher 8 to make the tufting straps P advance toward the mattress M.

Adjacent to the tufting strap magazine 5, the device 1 comprises a tubular needle 15 (see Figure 5), in which one end is fixed in a sleeve 16 and the opposite end has a tip 17 provided with a receptacle 18 suitable to receive the first clip S1 through a lateral opening by means of a transfer element 31 described hereinafter.

The receptacle 18 is connected to the internal cavity 19 of the needle, in which a rod 20, suitable to lock the first clip S 1 inside the seat, can slide.

The needle 15 is guided at right angles with respect to the mattress M by first means for actuation between a first position, in which the tip 17 is arranged upstream of the mattress M and the first clip S1 is retained in the receptacle 18 by the rod 20, and a second position, in which the tip 17 has pierced the mattress M and the rod 20 releases the clip S 1 downstream of the mattress M. Said first actuation means comprise a linear actuator 21, which is fixed, by means of its opposite ends, below the plate 4 and the beam 2. The actuator 21 actuates a carriage 22, on which the sleeve 16 and a cylinder 23 for actuating the rod 20 are mounted.

A cam 24 is rigidly coupled to the carriage 22 and has an edge that is inclined with respect to the carriage advancement direction.

Proximate to the tip 17 of the needle 15, the plate 4 supports, so that it can rotate about a vertical rotation axis, a rocker 25 (see Figures 4 and 6), in which one end 26 is connected, by means of a spring 27, to the plate 4 and the other end 28 forms a guiding recess 29 for the needle 15. A free roller 30 is arranged on the end 28 and is suitable to be detachably engaged by the cam 24. The function of the rocker 25 is to contrast the possible flexing of the needle when the clip S1 is inserted in the receptacle 18, while the cam 24 is meant to remove the abutment provided by the rocker 25 when the needle 15 is made to advance toward the mattress.

A transfer element 31 (see Figures 6 to 8) is provided between the mattress M and the output of the magazine 5 and is supported by the plate 4. The transfer element 31 comprises a transfer pusher 33, which is actuated by a fluid-actuated cylinder 34 and is arranged opposite a block 32 provided with a hollow 35 suitable to receive the first clip S1 that arrives from the corresponding slot 6. Above the hollow 35 there are two plates 36, 37, which are fixed onto the block 32 and are divided by a gap 38a that is aligned with the receptacle 18 of the needle 15. Between the plates 36, 37 and the block 32 there remains an interspace or channel 38b, in which there is an elastic lamina 38 provided with a U-shaped edge which is accommodated in the hollow 35 and forms a seat 39 that is aligned with the slot 6 in order to receive the clip S1 and retain it under the plates 36, 37. The pusher 33 has a second seat 40, which is centrally provided with a passage opening 41 suitable to be engaged by a tooth 42 that protrudes from the block 32. The seat 40 is aligned with the slot 7 in order to receive the second clip S2. The pusher 33, by means of the cylinder 34, can move transversely with respect to the needle 15, so as to transfer the first clip S 1 from an initial position (in which it is locked elastically in the seat 39 by the lamina 38) through the channel 38b to a final position for insertion in the receptacle 18 of the needle. Once the clip has been transferred into the receptacle 18, the tooth 42 disengages the second clip S2 from the corresponding retention seat 40.

Two magazines 42a and 42b for the disks D1, D2 (see Figures 6 and 10 to 13) are associated with the device 1. The magazine 42a is constituted by a sort of case, which can be inserted removably in a seat 4a (see Figure 2) provided in an element 4b associated with the plate 4.

The case 42a is formed by two parallel strips 42c, provided with mutually opposite slots 42d and mutually connected by a wall 42e which, in alignment with the needle 15, has an opening 42f. The disks D1 are inserted from above into the slots 42d of the case 42a, forming a column in which the lower disk faces the opening 42f.

The opening 42f allows the tip of the needle 15 to pass through the disk D1 and place it on the face of the mattress M. Likewise, the other magazine 42b (see Figure 13) is detachably supported on the other side of the mattress, in a region of the frame described in detail hereinafter, and has the same characteristics as the magazine described above.

The described device 1 is conveniently integrated in an apparatus for the automatic application of tufting straps onto the entire surface of the mattress M shown in Figure 12.

Said apparatus comprises a frame, generally designated by the reference numeral 43, which is composed of two rectangular walls 44 and 45 which are flat and mutually parallel so as to delimit between them a space 46 meant to receive the mattress M. The wall 44 is provided, in a central position of two parallel sides, with two bodies 47, 48 from which two respective mutually coaxial pivots 49, 50 protrude horizontally.

The pivots 49, 50 can rotate, about the horizontal axis A, in supports 51 and 52, which are fixed to the top of two side members 53, 54 anchored to a footing for resting on the ground.

The sides of the walls 44 and 45 that are perpendicular to the axis A are spaced from the adjacent side members 53, 54 in order to allow the installation, on each side, of two jacks 55, 56, in which the cylinders are articulated to the wall 45 and the stems are rigidly coupled to the wall 44. The pairs of jacks 55, 56 allow to move the wall 45 with respect to the wall 44 in order to allow, when the walls are in a spaced position, the placement of the mattress M in the space 46 and, when the walls are in a mutually closer position, the retention of the mattress M in order to apply the tufting straps P by means of the above described device 1.

The mattress M is positioned in the space 46 while the walls 44 and 45 are in the horizontal position. For this purpose, the stem of a jack 57 is articulated to one side of the wall 44 and is pivoted, by means of its cylinder, to a frame 58 that is rigidly coupled to the side member 53. Once the mattress has been positioned in the space 46 and therefore rests on the wall 44, the jacks 55, 56 are actuated and lock it between the walls 44 and 45, reducing its thickness to a value that is smaller than the length of the tufting straps P that will be driven through it.

Respective pairs of guides 59, 60, 61, 62 (see Figures 12 and 13) are fixed on the sides of the walls 44, 45 that lie at right angles to the axis A, and two carriages 63, 64 can slide thereon; said carriages are substantially constituted by a beam that is parallel to the axis A and has, at its opposite end, sliding blocks 65, 66, 67, 68 (see Figures 14 and 17) which are slidingly rigidly coupled in the guides 59-62.

A rail 69 is fixed on the beam that constitutes the carriage 63 and allows the sliding of a slide 70 on which the plate 4 of the device 1 is fixed. The slide 70 can move along the rail 69 by means of a transmission composed of a reversible gearmotor 71, which is coupled by means of a flange to one end of the carriage 63 and on whose output shaft a toothed pulley, for the actuation of a toothed belt 72, is keyed. The belt 72 is wound in a loop around a guiding pulley, which is supported at the opposite end of the carriage 63, so that the two portions of the belt 72 are parallel to the rail 69. One of the two portions of the belt is rigidly coupled to the slide 70, so that by activating the gearmotor 71 it is possible to move the device 1 along the rail 69 in order to position it transversely on the wall 45.

In order to position the device 1 at right angles to the axis A, at the corners of the wall 45 there are two pairs of pulleys 73, 74 and 75, 76 (see Figures 12 and 14), around which two respective toothed belts 77, 78 are wound which run parallel to the rails 59, 60. The pulleys 73, 74 are rotationally coupled to each other by means of a shaft 79, which receives its motion from a gearmotor 80 of the reversible type, which is coupled by means of a flange laterally to the wall 45. The sliding blocks 65, 66 are rigidly coupled to a portion of the belts 77 and 78, so that the carriage 63, by actuating the gearmotor 80, can move along the rails 59, 60 while remaining parallel to the axis A.

In order to move the carriage 64 with respect to the wall 44, there are elements that are fully identical to the ones described above to illustrate the movement of the carriage 63 with respect to the wall 45.

These elements (see Figure 13) comprise a slide 81, on which the magazine 42b of the disks D2 is fixed; said slide can slide on a rail 82, which is fixed to the beam that constitutes the carriage 64. The slide 81 can be moved along the rail 82, and therefore parallel to the axis A, by means of a belt 83 actuated by a reversible gearmotor 84 mounted on the carriage 64.

In order to move the carriage 64 at right angles to the axis A, the sliding blocks 67, 68 are connected to two belts 85, 86 (see Figures 13, 17), which are parallel to the rails 61, 62 and are wound around respective pairs of pulleys 87, 88 and 89, 90, which are rotatably supported at the corners of the wall 44; the pulleys 87, 88 are rotationally connected by a shaft 91, which is actuated by a reversible gearmotor 92.

The walls 44, 45 are provided with a plurality of holes 93, 94, through which the device 1 drives the tufting straps P through the mattress M.

The holes 93 of the wall 44 are arranged perfectly opposite with respect to the holes 94 of the wall 45, and their placement is determined substantially as a function of a uniform distribution of the tufting straps P with respect to the dimensions of the mattress M, although the choice of the tufting strap application points can follow various criteria.

Since, as will become better apparent from the description that follows, respective disks D1, D2 are arranged between the opposite faces of the mattress M and the clips S1, S2 of the tufting straps, the disk D1, taken from the magazine 42a of the device, must be perfectly aligned with the disk D2 that is taken from the magazine 42b that lies behind the wall 44 and therefore there must be perfect synchronization of direction, orientation and modulus of the movements performed by the magazines 42a and 42b, and therefore ultimately of the slide 70 that supports the device 1, with the magazine 42a and the slide 81 that supports the magazine 42b.

For this purpose, the gearmotors 80, 92 and 71, 84 that actuate the carriages 63 and 64 and the slides 70 and 81 are controlled by a control unit, which controls their synchronized movements according to a predetermined and presettable program. The same program controls the elements that determine the activation of the actuator 21 for the advancement of the needle supporting carriage 22 and of the cylinders 34, 23 that actuate the transfer and retention of the clip S1 of the tufting strap P in the receptacle 18 of the tip of the needle 15.

The operation of the illustrated apparatus, albeit fully evident from the provided description, is as follows.

Starting from a situation in which the walls 44, 45 are arranged horizontally and are mutually spaced at a distance that is greater than the thickness of the mattress M, said mattress is inserted in the space 46. Once the placement of the mattress has been completed, the four jacks 55, 56 are actuated and, by moving the walls 44 and 45 toward each other, compress the mattress to a thickness that is smaller than the length of the tufting straps P.

After the walls 44, 45 have assumed the vertical position shown in Figures 12-17 as a consequence of the activation of the jack 57, the actuation of the gearmotors 80, 92 and 71, 84 determines the movement of the slides 70, 81 into the position for alignment with the holes 93, 94 of the walls 44, 45, in which a tufting strap P is to be inserted. At this point, the cylinder 34 is activated and, by acting with the pusher 33 on the clip S 1, transfers said clip from the seat 39 through the channel 38b into the receptacle 18 of the needle 15, where it remains because it is retained by the thrust applied by the rod 20 due to the cylinder 23. It should be noted that during the passage of the clip S1 in the channel 38b, the tension element T passes through the gap 38a. When the pusher 33 moves, the second clip S2 is pushed out of the seat 40 due to the thrust applied thereto by the tooth 42 through the opening 41.

Upon completion of the transfer of the clip S1 from the seat 39, in which it was retained by the laminar spring 38, into the receptacle 18 of the needle 15, the actuator 21 is activated and pushes the needle 15 through the disk D 1 of the magazine 42a and, by continuing its stroke, through the holes 93, 94 of the walls 44, 45 and of the interposed mattress M. The movement of the needle 15 is sized so that before said needle reaches the end of its stroke the clip S2 engages against the disk of the magazine 42a, so that with the subsequent movement the disk D1 is extracted from the magazine and moved into abutment against the adjacent face of the mattress, remaining clamped between said face and the clip S2. When the needle, after passing through the mattress M and the disk D2 contained in the magazine 42b, exits from the opposite side (see Figure 10), the cylinder 23 is activated and retracts the rod 20 that lies inside the needle, releasing the clip S 1, which by means of the subsequent return stroke of the needle protrudes from the receptacle 18. It should be noted that as mentioned, since the mattress has been compressed down to a thickness that is smaller than the length of the tufting strap P, said tufting strap remains loose (see Figure 11) until the mattress is removed after completion of the application of all the tufting straps and the spacing of the walls 44, 45.

The operating steps for the insertion of the tufting straps are repeated for each tufting strap in the manner described above, following the preset program.

The described invention is susceptible of following modifications and variations, all of which are useful for understanding the invention as defined by the appended claims. In particular, a partially automated solution provides for the application of the disks D1, D2 only on one side. In this case, while the application of the disks D1 is performed according to the program with the device 1, application of the disks D2 is completed manually. Naturally, the apparatus will have a simplified structure due to the absence, on the wall 44, of the magazine 42b and of the elements meant to move it.

Another cheaper embodiment of the apparatus, shown in Figure 18, provides for manual actuation of the device 1. In this case, the gearmotors 71, 80 are not present and the slide 70 is actuated manually by the user by gripping the handlebar 3, 3a, 3b that is fixed to the end of the beam 2 and by moving the device 1 horizontally, making the slide 70 slide along the rail 69, and vertically, making the carriage 63 slide along the rails 59, 60. Advantageously, one pair of pulleys 75, 76 is connected by a shaft 79, and on the belts 77, 78 there are counterweights 95, 96 suitable to counterbalance the weight of the carriage 63 and of the elements mounted thereon.

In another embodiment of the invention, the means for transmitting motion from the gearmotors 80, 92 and 71, 84 to the carriages 63, 64 and to the slides 70, 81 can be constituted by worm screws.

Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly, such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.

Vorrichtung zum Einsetzen von Knüpfbändern (P) durch eine Matratze (M) gebildet aus einem flexiblen Zugelement (T), das an seinen gegenüberliegenden Enden mit zwei Clips (S1, S2) versehen ist, die in einer T-förmigen Konfiguration in Bezug auf das Zugelement angeordnet sind und geeignet sind, mittels einer ersten Scheibe (D1) und einer zweiten Scheibe (D2) gegen die gegenüberliegenden Seiten der Matratze (M) anzuliegen, einen Rahmen (43) zum Festlegen der Matratze (M), eine Vorrichtung (1) zum Einsetzen der Knüpfbänder (P) durch die Matratze (M), die von dem Rahmen (43) getragen ist, und Mittel zum Betätigen der Vorrichtung (1), so dass sie sich über der Matratze gemäß einem bestimmten Weg bewegt, eine Nadel (15), die eine Spitze (17) aufweist, versehen mit einer Aufnahme (18), die geeignet ist, einen ersten (S1) der Clips aufzunehmen und im rechten Winkel zur Matratze (M) geführt ist durch erste Betätigungsmittel (21) zwischen einer zurückgezogenen Position, in der die Spitze (17) vor der Matratze (M) angeordnet ist und einer vorgeschobenen Position, in der die Spitze (17) durch die Matratze (M) getreten ist, um den ersten Clip (S1) freizugeben, wobei die Nadel (15) geeignet ist, den ersten Clip (S1) freizugeben, nachdem die Spitze (17) durch die Matratze (M) getreten ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Vorrichtung (1) ein Magazin (5) von Knüpfbändern (P) umfasst, das zwei Schlitze (6, 7) aufweist, die verschiebbar die Clips (S1, S2) jedes Knüpfbandes aufnehmen, ein Überführungselement (31), das am Ausgang der Schlitze (6, 7) angeordnet ist und einen Sitz (39) zum Aufnehmen des ersten Clips (S1) umfasst, der vom entsprechenden Schlitz (6) ankommt, und einen Schieber (33), der sich quer zur Nadel (15) bewegen kann aufgrund zweiter Mittel (34) zur Betätigung zwischen einer Ausgangsposition zum Eingreifen am ersten Clip (S1) angeordnet im Sitz (39) und einer Endposition für das Einsetzen des ersten Clips (S1) in die Aufnahme (18). Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Magazin (5) auf einem Halter (2-4) angebracht ist, gebildet aus einem zentralen Träger (2), an dessen gegenüberliegenden Enden jeweils ein Querglied (3) und eine Platte (4) befestigt sind, wobei das Magazin mit dem zentralen Träger (2) starr gekoppelt ist, ferner dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Halter (2-4) auf dem Rahmen (43) so angebracht ist, dass er sich bewegen kann, dass die Nadel (15) immer senkrecht zur Matratze (M) bleibt. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Magazin (5) einen Schieber (8) und Betätigungsmittel (9) aufweist, die geeignet sind, den Schieber (8) zur Matratze (M) zu betätigen, um die Knüpfbänder (P) in das Überführungselement (31) zu überführen, so dass die Clips (S1, S2) auf dem Sitz (39) angeordnet werden und jeweils in einem Sitz (40) des Schiebers (33). Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Betätigungsmittel aus einem Gleiter (11) bestehen, der auf einer Schiene (13) gleiten kann, die im Wesentlichen parallel zu dem zentralen Träger (2) ist und einer Leiste (10), die mit dem Gleiter (11) starr gekoppelt ist und geeignet ist, auf einen Stift (8a) einzuwirken, der vom Schieber (8) hervorsteht, wobei der Gleiter (11) von einer Feder (14), die mit ihren gegenüberliegenden Enden mit der Platte und dem Gleiter (11) verbunden ist, elastisch zu der Platte (4) gezogen wird. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die ersten Betätigungsmittel eine Linearbetätigung (21) umfassen, die zwischen der Platte (4) und dem zentralen Träger (2) befestigt ist, und einen Schlitten (22), der sich mittels der Linearbetätigung bewegen kann, und dass die Nadel (15) einen Hohlraum (19) umfasst, der in die Aufnahme (18) führt und einen Stab (20), der sich im Hohlraum (19) verschieben kann, wobei der Stab (20) von einem fluidbetätigten Zylinder (23) betätigt wird, der auf dem Schlitten (22) angebracht ist, wobei der Stab (20) geeignet ist, den ersten Clip (S1) in der zurückgezogenen Position der Nadel festzulegen und ihn in der vorgeschobenen Position freizugeben. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie umfasst: einen Kipphebel (25), der drehbar auf der Platte (4) gelagert ist und ein mit einer Ausnehmung (29) versehendes Ende aufweist zum Führen der Nadel (15), wobei der Kipphebel (25) von einem Mitnehmer (24) gesteuert wird, so dass in der zurückgezogenen Position der Nadel (15) die Aufnahme (18) der Nadel (15) in der Ausnehmung (29) angeordnet ist, so dass sie den ersten Clip (S1) des Knüpfbandes (P) darin aufnimmt, das vom Schieber (33) eingeschoben ist, wobei der Kipphebel (25) geeignet ist, eine seitliche Lagerung der Nadel bei der Überführung des Clips (S1) in die Aufnahme (18) vorzusehen. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Aufnahmesitz durch eine Höhlung (35) gebildet ist, die in einem Block (32) ausgebildet ist, der auf der Platte (4) befestigt ist, wobei zwei Platten (36, 37) auf dem Block (32) befestigt sind und einen Spalt (38a) zwischen sich bilden und einen Kanal (38b) zusammen mit dem Block (32), wobei der Kanal (38b) und der Spalt (38a) mit der Aufnahme (18) ausgerichtet sind und der Kanal (38b) mit dem Schieber (33) zusammenwirken kann, um den ersten Clip (S1) vom Sitz (39) in die Aufnahme (18) zu überführen. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Kanal (38b) eine elastische Leiste (38) aufnimmt, die eine Kante aufweist, die in die Höhlung (35) vorsteht und den Sitz (39) zum Aufnehmen des ersten Clip (S1) bildet. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Sitz zum Aufnehmen des zweiten Clip (S2) im Schieber (33) in der Mitte mit einer Öffnung (41) versehen ist, in die ein Zahn (42) des Blocks (32) eingreifen kann, wobei der Zahn geeignet ist, den zweiten Clip (S2) aus dem Sitz auszuwerfen, wenn der Schieber (33) in der Endposition ist. Vorrichtung nach einem oder mehreren der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie zwei Magazine (42a, 42b) mit Scheiben (D1, D2) umfasst, wobei das erste Magazin (42a) von der Platte (4) auf einer Seite der Matratze (M) getragen ist, das zweite Magazin (42b) vom Rahmen (43) auf der anderen Seite der Matratze getragen ist. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jedes der Magazine (42a, 42b) aus einem Gehäuse besteht, das von zwei parallelen Streifen (42c) gebildet ist, die mit einander gegenüberliegenden Schlitzen (42d) versehen sind, und miteinander durch eine Wand (42e) verbunden sind, die mit einer Öffnung (42f) versehen ist, die mit der Nadel (15) ausgerichtet ist, wobei die Schlitze (42d) einen Haltesitz für einen Stapel Scheiben (D1, D2) bilden, deren unterste den Öffnungen (42f) zugewandt ist. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Rahmen (43) zwei rechtwinklige Wände (44, 45) umfasst, die flach und zueinander parallel sind, so dass sie zwischen sich einen Raum (46) zum Aufnehmen einer Matratze (M) begrenzen, und einander gegenüberliegende Durchtritte (93, 94) an den Punkten zum Anbringen der Knüpfbänder (P) aufweisen, Mittel (55, 56) zum Bewegen einer Wand (45) in Bezug auf die andere Wand (44) zwischen einer beabstandeten Position zum Aufnehmen der Matratze (M) in den Raum (46) und einer angenäherten Position, in der die Matratze (M) auf eine Dicke komprimiert ist, die geringer ist als die Länge der Knüpfbänder (P), einen Schlitten (63), der auf Führungen (59, 60) verschiebbar ist, die extern zu einer Wand (45) befestigt sind und mit einer Führung (69) zum Verschieben eines Gleiters (70) im rechten Winkel zum Schlitten (63) versehen ist, wobei die Vorrichtung (1) und ein erstes Magazin (42a) von Scheiben (D1) auf dem Gleiter (70) gelagert sind, Mittel (80, 71) zum Bewegen des Schlittens (63) und des Gleiters (70) auf den Führungen (59, 60, 69) gemäß einem System von X-Y-Achsen, so dass die Nadel (15) in Ausrichtung mit den Durchtritten (93, 94) positioniert wird, um der Nadel (15) zu ermöglichen, dass sie durch die Scheibe (D1) tritt, die den Durchtritten gegenüber liegt und die Knüpfbänder (P) durch die Matratze (M) führt, so dass der in der Aufnahme (18) der Nadel gehaltene Clip (S1) auf der Seite der Matratze freigegeben wird, die der Nadeleinführseite gegenüber liegt, während der andere Clip (S2) die Scheibe (D1) aus dem Magazin zieht. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie einen zweiten Schlitten (64) umfasst, der auf Führungen (61, 62) verschiebbar ist, die extern der zweiten Wand (44) befestigt sind, und mit einer Führung (82) zum Verschieben eines zweiten Gleiters (81) im rechten Winkel zum Verschieben des zweiten Schlittens versehen ist, wobei der zweite Gleiter ein zweites Magazin (42b) mit Scheiben (D2) trägt und Mittel (92, 84) zum Bewegen des zweiten Schlittens (64) und des zweiten Gleiters (81) gemäß einem System von X-Y-Achsen, so dass das zweite Magazin (42b) synchron zur Vorrichtung (1) positioniert wird, so dass die Nadel (15), nachdem sie durch eine Scheibe (D1) des ersten Magazins (42a) und die Matratze (M) getreten ist, den in der Aufnahme (18) gehaltenen Clip (S1) durch eine Scheibe (D2) des zweiten Magazins trägt. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 12 und 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel zum Bewegen jedes der Schlitten (63, 64) zwei Riemen (77, 78; 85, 86) umfassen, die auf den Seiten entsprechender Wände (44, 45) angeordnet sind und in einer Schleife um Scheibenpaare (73-76; 87-90) gelegt sind, so dass sie parallel zu den Führungen (59, 60; 61, 62) liegen, eine Welle (79, 91), die zum drehbaren Verbinden zweier entsprechender Scheiben der Paare vorgesehen ist, wobei die Welle durch einen reversiblen Getriebemotor (80; 92) betätigt wird. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 12 bis 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Wände (44, 45) so gelagert sind, dass sie sich um eine horizontale Achse (A) drehen können und dass Betätigungsmittel (57) vorgesehen sind zum Drehen der Wände zwischen einer beabstandeten Position, in der sie horizontal liegen, um das Einsetzen einer Matratze (M) in den Raum (46) zu ermöglichen, und einer Position, in der sie vertikal liegen und näher beieinander sind, um die Matratze festzulegen, so dass das Anbringen der Knüpfbänder (P) ermöglicht ist. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 12 bis 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel zum Bewegen der Wände (44, 45) zueinander durch Heber (55, 56) gebildet sind, in denen der Zylinder starr mit der Seite einer Wand gekoppelt ist und der Kolben starr mit der Seite der gegenüberliegenden Wand gekoppelt ist. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 12 bis 16, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Getriebemotoren (71, 80; 84, 92) zum Betätigen der Gleiter (70, 81) und der Schlitten (63, 64) durch eine Steuerung gesteuert werden, die ihre Bewegungen entsprechend einem bestimmten und voreinstellbaren Programm steuert. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 17, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Steuerung die Betätigung (21) für den Vorschub der Nadel (15), die Mittel (31) zum Überführen des Clips (S1) in die Aufnahme (18) der Nadel und Mittel (20, 23) sie darin zu halten, steuert. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 12 und 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel zum Bewegen des Schlittens (63) zum Tragen der Vorrichtung (1) zwei Riemen (77, 78) umfassen, die an den Seiten der jeweiligen Wände (45) angeordnet sind und in Schleifen um Scheibenpaare (73-76) gelegt sind, so dass sie parallel zu den Führungen (59, 60) liegen, wobei eine Welle (79) zum Verbinden zweier entsprechender Scheiben (75, 76) der Paare vorgesehen ist, ferner dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Gegengewichte (95, 96) für die Vorrichtung (1) und die Schlitten (63, 64) auf den Riemen (77, 78) befestigt sind.

An apparatus for inserting through a mattress (M) tufting straps (P) constituted by a flexible tension element (T) provided, at its opposite ends, with two clips (S1, S2) arranged in a T-shaped configuration with respect to said tension element and suitable to abut, by means of a first disk (D1) and a second disc (D2), against the opposite faces of said mattress (M), a frame (43) for locking said mattress (M), a device (1) for inserting said tufting straps (P) through said mattress (M), which is supported by said frame (43), and means for actuating said device (1) so that it moves above the mattress according to a predetermined path, a needle (15) which has a tip (17) provided with a receptacle (18) that is suitable to receive a first one (S1) of said clips and is guided at right angles to said mattress (M) by way of first actuation means (21) between a retracted position, in which said tip (17) is arranged upstream of said mattress (M), and an advanced position, in which said tip (17) has passed through said mattress (M) in order to release said first clip (S1), said needle (15) being adapted to release said first clip (S1) after said tip (17) has passed through said mattress (M), characterised in that said device (1) comprises a magazine (5) of tufting straps (P) which has two slots (6, 7) that slidingly accommodate the clips (S1, S2) of each tufting strap, a transfer element (31), which is arranged at the output of said slots (6, 7) and comprises a seat (39) for receiving said first clip (S1), which arrives from the corresponding slot (6), and a pusher (33), which can move transversely to said needle (15) by virtue of second means (34) for actuation between an initial position for engagement on said first clip (S1) arranged in said seat (39) and a final position for the insertion of said first clip (S1) in said receptacle (18). The apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that said magazine (5) is mounted on a support (2-4) constituted by a central beam (2), to the opposite ends of which a cross-member (3) and a plate (4) are respectively fixed, said magazine being rigidly coupled to said central beam (2), further characterised in that said support (2-4) is mounted on said frame (43) so that it can move that said needle (15) remains always perpendicular to said mattress (M). The apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that said magazine (5) comprises a pusher (8) and actuation means (9), which are suitable to actuate said pusher (8) toward said mattress (M) in order to transfer said tufting straps (P) into said transfer element (31) so that said clips (S 1, S2) are arranged in said seat (39) and respectively in a seat (40) of said pusher (33). The apparatus according to claim 3, characterized in that said actuation means consist of a slider (11) that can slide on a rail (13) that is substantially parallel to said central beam (2) and a lamina (10) that is rigidly coupled to said slider (11) and is suitable to act on a pin (8a) that protrudes from said pusher (8), said slider (11) being drawn elastically toward said plate (4) by a spring (14) that is connected, with its opposite ends, to said plate and said slider (11). The apparatus according to claim 4, characterized in that said first actuation means comprise a linear actuator (21), which is fixed between said plate (4) and said central beam (2), and a carriage (22) that can move by means of said linear actuator, and in that said needle (15) comprises a cavity (19) that leads into said receptacle (18) and a rod (20) that can slide inside said cavity (19), said rod (20) being actuated by a fluid-actuated cylinder (23) that is mounted on said carriage (22), said rod (20) being suitable to lock said first clip (S1) in said retracted position of said needle and release it in said advanced position. The apparatus according to claim 5, characterized in that it comprises a rocker (25) that is rotatably supported on said plate (4) and has an end provided with a recess (29) for guiding said needle (15), said rocker (25) being controlled by a cam (24) so that in the retracted position of said needle (15) the receptacle (18) of said needle (15) is arranged in said recess (29) in order to receive said first clip (S1) of the tufting strap (P) pushed therein by said pusher (33), said rocker (25) being suitable to provide a lateral support to said needle during the transfer of said clip (S1) in said receptacle (18). The apparatus according to claim 6, characterized in that said receiving seat is formed by a hollow (35) formed in a block (32) that is fixed on said plate (4), two plates (36, 37) being fixed on said block (32) and forming a gap (38a) between them and a channel (38b) together with said block (32), said channel (38b) and said gap (38a) being aligned with said receptacle (18) and said channel (38b) being engageable by said pusher (33) in order to transfer said first clip (S1) from said seat (39) into said receptacle (18). The apparatus according to claim 7, characterized in that said channel (38b) accommodates an elastic lamina (38) that has an edge that protrudes into said hollow (35) and forms said seat (39) for receiving said first clip (S1). The apparatus according to claim 8, characterized in that said seat for receiving said second clip (S2) in said pusher (33) is centrally provided with an opening (41) that can be engaged by a tooth (42) of said block (32), said tooth being suitable to expel said second clip (S2) from said seat when said pusher (33) is in the final position. The apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises two magazines (42a, 42b) of disks (D1, D2), the first magazine (42a) being supported by said plate (4) on one side of said mattress (M), the second magazine (42b) being supported by said frame (43) on the other side of said mattress. The apparatus according to claim 10, characterized in that each one of said magazines (42a, 42b) is constituted by a case formed by two parallel strips (42c) provided with mutually opposite slots (42d) and mutually connected by a wall (42e) that is provided with an opening (42f) that is aligned with said needle (15), said slots (42d) forming a retention seat for a column of disks (D1, D2), the lowermost of which faces said openings (42f). The apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said frame (43) comprises two rectangular walls (44, 45), which are flat and mutually parallel, so as to delimit between them a space (46) for accommodating a mattress (M), and have mutually opposite holes (93, 94) at the points of application of said tufting straps (P), means (55, 56) for moving one wall (45) with respect to the other wall (44) between a spaced position for receiving the mattress (M) in said space (46) and a closer position, in which said mattress (M) is compressed down to a thickness that is smaller than the length of the tufting straps (P), a carriage (63) that can slide on guides (59, 60) that are fixed externally to a wall (45) and is provided with a guide (69) for the sliding of a slide (70) at right angles to said carriage (63), said device (1) and a first magazine (42a) of disks (D1) being supported on said slide (70), means (80, 71) for moving said carriage (63) and said slide (70) on said guides (59, 60, 69) according to a system of X-Y axes so as to position said needle (15) in alignment with said holes (93, 94) in order to allow said needle (15) to pass through the disk (D1) that lies opposite said holes and guide said tufting straps (P) through said mattress (M) so that the clip (S1) retained in the receptacle (18) of said needle is released on the side of the mattress that lies opposite the needle insertion side, while the other clip (S2) extracts said disk (D1) from said magazine. The apparatus according to claim 12, characterized in that it comprises a second carriage (64) that can slide on guides (61, 62) that are fixed externally to the second wall (44) and is provided with a guide (82) for the sliding of a second slide (81) at right angles to the sliding of said second carriage, said second slider supporting a second magazine (42b) of disks (D2) and means (92, 84) for moving said second carriage (64) and said second slide (81) according to a system of X-Y axes so as to position said second magazine (42b) synchronously with said device (1) so that said needle (15), after passing through a disk (D1) of said first magazine (42a) and the mattress (M), carries the clip (S1) retained in the receptacle (18) through a disk (D2) of said second magazine. The apparatus according to one of claims 12 and 13, characterized in that said means for moving each one of said carriages (63, 64) comprise two belts (77, 78; 85, 86) that are arranged on the sides of the respective walls (44, 45) and are closed in a loop around pairs of pulleys (73-76; 87-90) so as to lie parallel to said guides (59, 60; 61, 62), a shaft (79, 91) being provided for rotationally connecting two respective pulleys of said pairs, said shaft being actuated by a reversible gearmotor (80; 92). The apparatus according to one of claims 12 to 14, characterized in that said walls (44, 45) are supported so that they can rotate about a horizontal axis (A) and in that there are actuation means (57) for rotating said walls between a spaced position, in which they lie horizontally in order to allow the insertion of a mattress (M) in said space (46), and a position in which they lie vertically and mutually closer, in order to lock the mattress so as to allow the application of said tufting straps (P). The apparatus according to one of claims 12 to 15, characterized in that said means for moving said walls (44, 45) with respect to each other are constituted by jacks (55, 56) in which the cylinder is rigidly coupled to the side of one wall and the stem is rigidly coupled to the side of the opposite wall. The apparatus according to one of claims 12 to 16, characterized in that the gearmotors (71, 80; 84, 92) for actuating the slides (70, 81) and the carriages (63, 64) are controlled by a control unit that controls their movements according to a predetermined and presettable program. The apparatus according to claim 17, characterized in that said control unit controls the actuator (21) for the advancement of the needle (15), the means (31) for transferring the clip (S1) into the receptacle (18) of said needle, and means (20, 23) for retaining it therein. Dispositif selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit magasin (5) est monté sur un support (2 à 4) constitué par une poutre centrale (2), aux extrémités opposées de laquelle une traverse (3) et une plaque (4) sont fixées respectivement, ledit magasin étant couplé de manière rigide à ladite poutre centrale (2), caractérisé en outre en ce que ledit support (2 à 4) est monté sur ledit châssis (43) de sorte qu'il peut se déplacer en ayant ladite aiguille (15) qui reste toujours perpendiculaire audit matelas (M). Dispositif selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que ledit magasin (5) comporte un poussoir (8) et des moyens d'actionnement (9), qui sont appropriés pour actionner ledit poussoir (8) vers ledit matelas (M) afin de transférer lesdits liens de capitonnage (P) dans ledit élément de transfert (31), de sorte que lesdites attaches (S1, S2) sont disposées dans ledit siège (39) et respectivement dans un siège (40) dudit poussoir (33). Dispositif selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens d'actionnement consistent en un coulisseau (11) qui peut coulisser sur un rail (13) qui est sensiblement parallèle à ladite poutre centrale (2), et une lamelle (10) qui est couplée de manière rigide audit coulisseau (11), et qui est adaptée pour agir sur une broche (8a) qui fait saillie par rapport audit poussoir (8), ledit coulisseau (11) étant tiré de manière élastique en direction de ladite plaque (4) par un ressort (14) qui est connecté, par ses extrémités opposées, à ladite plaque et audit coulisseau (11). Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un balancier (25) qui est supporté de manière rotative sur ladite plaque (4), et qui a une extrémité munie d'un évidement (29) pour guider ladite aiguille (15), ledit balancier (25) étant commandé par une came (24) de sorte que dans la position rétractée de ladite aiguille (15), le réceptacle (18) de ladite aiguille (15) est agencé dans ledit évidement (29) afin de recevoir ladite première attache (S1) du lien de capitonnage (P) poussée à l'intérieur par ledit poussoir (33), ledit balancier (25) étant adapté pour fournir un support latéral à ladite aiguille durant le transfert de ladite attache (S1) dans ledit réceptacle (18). Dispositif selon la revendication 6, caractérisé en ce que ledit siège de réception est formé par un creux (35) formé dans un bloc (32) qui est fixé sur ladite plaque (4), deux plaques (36, 37) étant fixées sur ledit bloc (32) et formant un espace (38a) entre elles et un canal (38b) ensemble avec ledit bloc (32), ledit canal (38b) et ledit espace (38a) étant alignés avec ledit réceptacle (18), et ledit canal (38b) pouvant être en prise avec ledit poussoir (33) afin de transférer ladite première attache (S1) depuis ledit siège (39) dans ledit réceptacle (18). Dispositif selon la revendication 7, caractérisé en ce que ledit canal (38b) reçoit une lamelle élastique (38) qui a un bord qui fait saillie dans ledit creux (35), et forme ledit siège (39) pour recevoir ladite première attache (S1). Dispositif selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ledit châssis (43) comporte deux parois rectangulaires (44, 45), qui sont plates et mutuellement parallèles, afin de délimiter entre elles un espace (46) pour recevoir un matelas (M), et ont des trous mutuellement opposés (93, 94) au niveau des points d'application desdits liens de capitonnage (P), des moyens (55, 56) pour déplacer une première paroi (45) par rapport à l'autre paroi (44) entre une position espacée pour recevoir le matelas (M) dans ledit espace (46) et une position rapprochée, dans laquelle ledit matelas (M) est comprimé jusqu'à une épaisseur qui est inférieure à la longueur des liens de capitonnage (P), un chariot (63) qui peut coulisser sur des guides (59, 60) qui sont fixés sur l'extérieur d'une paroi (45), et qui est muni d'un guide (69) pour le coulissement d'un coulisseau (70) perpendiculairement audit chariot (63), ledit dispositif (1) et un premier magasin (42a) de disques (D1) étant supportés par ledit coulisseau (70), des moyens (80, 71) pour déplacer ledit chariot (63) et ledit coulisseau (70) sur lesdits guides (59, 60, 69) selon un système d'axes X-Y, afin de positionner ladite aiguille (15) en alignement par rapport auxdits trous (93, 94) pour permettre à ladite aiguille (15) de passer à travers le disque (D1) qui se trouve opposé auxdits trous, et de guider lesdits liens de capitonnage (P) à travers ledit matelas (M), de sorte que l'attache (S1) retenue dans le réceptacle (18) de ladite aiguille est libérée du côté du matelas qui se trouve à l'opposé du coté d'insertion de l'aiguille, tandis que l'autre attache (S2) extrait ledit disque (D1) dudit magasin. Dispositif selon la revendication 12, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un second chariot (64) qui peut coulisser sur des guides (61, 62) qui sont fixés sur l'extérieur de la seconde paroi (44), et qui est muni d'un guide (82) pour le coulissement d'un second coulisseau (81) perpendiculairement au coulissement dudit second chariot, ledit second coulisseau supportant un second magasin (42b) de disques (D2) et des moyens (92, 84) pour déplacer ledit second chariot (64) et ledit second coulisseau (81) selon un système d'axes X-Y afin de positionner ledit second magasin (42b) de manière synchrone avec ledit dispositif (1), de sorte que ladite aiguille (15), après avoir traversé un disque (D1) dudit premier magasin (42a) et le matelas (M), transporte l'attache (S1) retenue dans le réceptacle (18) à travers un disque (D2) dudit second magasin. Dispositif selon la revendication 12 ou 13, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens pour déplacer chacun desdits chariots (63, 64) comportent deux courroies (77, 78; 85, 86) qui sont disposées sur les côtés des parois respectives (44, 45), et qui sont fermées en boucle autour de paires de poulies (73 à 76 ; 87 à 90) de manière à s'étendre parallèlement auxdits guides (59, 60 ; 61, 62), un arbre (79, 91) étant fourni pour connecter de manière rotative deux poulies respectives desdites paires, ledit arbre étant actionné par un motoréducteur réversible (80 ; 92). Dispositif selon l'une quelconque des revendications 12 à 14, caractérisé en ce que lesdites parois (44, 45) sont supportées de sorte qu'elles peuvent pivoter autour d'un axe horizontal (A), et en ce qu'il y a des moyens d'actionnement (57) pour faire pivoter lesdites parois entre une position espacée, dans laquelle elles s'étendent horizontalement afin de permettre l'insertion d'un matelas (M) dans ledit espace (46), et une position dans laquelle elles s'étendent verticalement et mutuellement rapprochées, afin de bloquer le matelas pour permettre l'application desdits liens de capitonnage (P). Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 12 à 15, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens pour déplacer lesdites parois (44, 45) l'une par rapport à l'autre sont constitués par des vérins (55, 56) dans lesquels le cylindre est couplé de manière rigide au côté d'une première paroi et la tige est couplée de manière rigide au côté de la paroi opposée. Dispositif selon l'une quelconque des revendications 12 à 16, caractérisé en ce que les motoréducteurs (71, 80 ; 84, 92) pour actionner les coulisseaux (70, 81) et les chariots (63, 64) sont commandés par une unité de commande qui commande leurs déplacements selon un programme prédéterminé et pré-réglable. Dispositif selon la revendication 17, caractérisé en ce que ladite unité de commande commande l'actionneur (21) pour l'avancée de l'aiguille (15), les moyens (31) pour transférer l'attache (S1) dans le réceptacle (18) de ladite aiguille, et des moyens (20, 23) pour la retenir à l'intérieur. Dispositif selon la revendication 12 ou 13, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens pour déplacer ledit chariot (63) pour supporter ledit dispositif (1) comportent deux courroies (77, 78) qui sont disposées sur les côtés des parois respectives (45), et qui sont fermées en boucle autour de paires de poulies (73 à 76) afin d'être placées parallèlement auxdits guides (59, 60), un arbre (79) étant fourni pour connecter deux poulies respectives (75, 76) desdites paires, caractérisé en outre en ce que des contrepoids (95, 96) pour ledit dispositif (1) et lesdits chariots (63, 64) sont fixés sur lesdites courroies (77, 78).
